A 28-year-old Dada Jatto, and another unidentified man, both motorcyclists, have been killed at different locations in the Akoko area of Ondo State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that their assailants also went away with the motorcycles of the slain men after their cold blood murder.

Jatto, who was a popular commercial motorcyclist in Iyani-Akoko, was reportedly missing for three days before the discovery of his body.

A source in the area informed LEADERSHIP that Jatto’s mutilated body and his damaged phone were later discovered on Tuesday at a spot very close to Arigidi-Akoko, along Oke-Agbe Road following a vigorous search after his sudden disappearance.

The source said his motorbike was yet to be recovered.

Similarly, the second incident also involved an unidentified motorcyclist suspected to hail from one of the Northern states.

The assailant reportedly lured the victim into a hideout between Ikare and Arigidi-Akoko where he used a sledgehammer to smash his head.

However, the victim prior to his eventual death at an undisclosed hospital, was able to describe his assailant and the snatcher of his motorbike.

The description led to the the arrest of the suspected assailant by vigilant security agents in the area with the same bike at Akunu-Akoko, a border town with Kogi State.

Meanwhile, residents of Iyani-Akoko in Akoko North-West local government have been thrown into mourning over the untimely death of the Jatto.

Residents described the father of two as a highly diligent and hardworking young man.

The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary in the area.

When contacted via phone call, Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed one of the incidents.

Odunlami-Omisanya said, “One of the cases has been reported to us and investigation into it had commenced immediately”.
