The 2024-2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday four recorded a couple of surprising away results which proved that this campaign is as open as ever.
Three goals were recorded in one of the most anticipated NPFL games of the matchday, which was between the reigning champions, Enugu Rangers and last season’s second runner-up, Remo Stars.
As expected, the in-form Remo Stars continued with their unbeaten run as they beat the reigning champions 2-1 in Ikenne, Ogun state on Sunday.
One of the most stunning results of the matchday was recorded at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo where Sunshine Stars of Akure recorded a 2-1 away win over Akwa United.
A similar away win was recorded at the Onikan stadium in Lagos as newly promoted Ikorodu City FC continued with their winless run in the NPFL. Nasarawa United, who have been struggling since the commencement of the season, defeated Ikorodu 2-1 in Lagos to reignite their hope of surviving in the league.
