Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has revealed that his team’s friendly game against Canada is an opportunity for them to test what they have been practising.

Note that the Super Falcons have been preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics in Sevilla, Spain. They have been in the country for about a week.

To further prepare for the forthcoming Olympics, they will play against the reigning Olympics champions, Canada in a closed-doors friendly game on Wednesday, July 17.

After the friendly game, the Super Falcons are expected to fly to Paris on Thursday in anticipation of their Olympics opener against Brazil on July 25. Afterwards, they will take on other teams in Group C, Spain and Japan.

Ahead of their friendly game against Canada, Randy Waldrum said he will use the game to try out a new combination of players.

“We are expecting a great game, the players have worked extremely hard, unfortunately, few players came into the camp a little bit late but the level has been extremely high,” the American technical told the Super Falcons Show.

“The players are focused and looking forward to the Olympics. The friendly will allow us to work on a couple of things that we have practised so far in training.

“It will also help us see some players, to look for the best combinations ahead of our opening game against Brazil.

“I think everyone is ready. The players are tired of playing against each other. They are ready to face a good team. We are all looking forward to the game against Canada.”
