2027 Presidency: It’s Igbo’s Turn To Become Nigeria’s President – ACC Declares

The Allied Conservative Congress (ACC) has advocated for the election of a President from the Southeast region of Nigeria in 2027.

The political group believed that this move would promote national unity.

During the inauguration of the Abia State executives in Umuahia, the ACC Chairman, Olusegun Peters, emphasized that the Igbo people have not had the opportunity to produce a Nigerian President since the tragic assassination of former head of state, General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, on July 29, 1966.

Peters, represented by the ACC National Vice Chairman for the Northwest, Ibrahim Abdullahi, pointed out that in the 25 years since the restoration of democracy, no individual from the Igbo ethnic group has held the presidency, while both the North and South West have each had two terms in office.

He affirmed that the party is committed to fairness and will actively support the equitable distribution of power among Nigeria’s three principal ethnic groups: Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba.

Abdullahi further characterized the Igbo as a hardworking community and expressed optimism that the current economic challenges facing the nation could be effectively addressed through the innovative capabilities of an Igbo leader.

Naija News reports that during the inauguration of the new Abia executives, the National Party Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among the State Working Committee (SWC).

He highlighted that the party is committed to representing the interests of all Nigerians, regardless of their religious, ethnic, or educational backgrounds.

In their separate addresses, the National Vice Chairman for North-Central, Hon. Illya Juan, the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, and the National Vice Chairman for South-East, Vincent Eberechukwu, extended their congratulations to the newly inaugurated executives for their dedication, expressing optimism that they would guide the party to success in the forthcoming elections.

In his address, the acting State Chairman of the ACC, Onyekachi Uwalaka, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the new state executive and assured that the party would be strategically positioned to secure governorship and legislative victories in Abia by 2027.
