59 Graduating Students Of UNIOSUN Bag First Class

A total of 59 graduating students of the University of Osun State will be awarded first class degrees in the forthcoming 14th convocation of the university.

The vice chancellor, Prof Clement Adebooye who disclosed this yesterday at a pre-convocation press conference at the Osogbo campus of the institution also revealed that 673 students graduated with second class upper division; 1,109 second class (lower division), and 304 third class degrees.

According to him, a total number of 2,409 degrees and diplomas will be awarded at the ceremony that comprises 2,145 first degrees, 10 postgraduate diploma, 214 master degrees, 40 doctoral degrees making a total of 2,409 degrees and diplomas.

Adebooye further disclosed that from September 13 to September 21, 2024, the institution would hold series of activities to mark the convocation ceremonies.

He hinted that the grand finale, slated for September 21, will witness the commissioning of projects by Governor Ademola Adeleke while the convocation for the Postgraduate College comes up thereafter.

The vice chancellor who expressed his joy at the completion of the 2023/24 academic session just on time and in line with global best practices, assured of the university’s commitment to the provision of a conducive learning environment, ensured staff and students’ satisfaction, and leveraged modern technologies to achieve the vision of the university.

He spoke of the institution’s plans to be among the top 10 universities in Nigeria and within the top 20 in Africa in the next foreseeable future adding that the path is clear as the strategies towards that end are robust.

While appreciating the efforts of the state government on the school, Adebooye called for the support of the people saying that their support is crucial for the growth of the institution as the university belongs to the people of Osun State.
