Aaron Wan-Bissaka Leaves Manchester United For West Ham

West Ham United have completed the signing of English defender, Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United.

The London-based club paid the Old Trafford side £15 million for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to complete the deal. The 26-year-old has committed his future to the Hammers by signing a lengthy seven-year deal.

Wan-Bissaka, who previously made a high-profile switch from Crystal Palace to Manchester United for £50 million in 2019, has been a prominent figure in the English football scene.

With 190 appearances for the Red Devils, the versatile defender also showcased his attacking prowess by scoring two goals during his time at Old Trafford.

This transfer marks West Ham’s eighth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Niclas Fullkrug, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, and Guido Rodriguez.

After completing the move to West Ham earlier today, August 13, Wan-Bissaka said: “It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here.

“I can’t wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there.

“I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others’ backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”

Recall that changes in managerial leadership at Manchester United saw Wan-Bissaka face challenges in securing a regular starting position. Nevertheless, he remained a significant presence on the pitch, making 64 appearances under the stewardship of Erik ten Hag.

Interestingly, Manchester United’s pursuit of Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui was contingent on Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham. With this transfer now concluded, the Red Devils are poised to complete the signing of the Morocco international.
