Abia State Health Insurance Agency has provided funds for 38,721 vulnerable enrollees for the state’s Basic Health Care Provision Fund.

The executive secretary and chief executive officer of the agency, Chidoziem Egwuonwu, stated this in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Friday in Umuahia, the state capital, yesterday.

The statement directed residents of the state with failing health to register for the fund at designated primary health care centres across the 17 local government areas.

It urged pregnant women, children under five, and the indigent elderly who have yet to key into the ongoing digital registration mop-up for the fund to do so.

Reacting to the statement, David Anyaele, the special assistant to the governor on Persons With Disabilities, commended the agency for releasing the funds.

“It goes to speak to the quality and commitment of the present leadership of the state to service. We now have a government that cares for all,” he noted.
