Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his administration is set to offer business-oriented youths state grants ranging from N500,000 to N10 million under the Ogun Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Programme (OGYES).

The grants, which are expected to offer unemployed youth and women across the state a wide range of opportunities, will be disbursed under the Ogun Youths Empowerment Scheme (OGYES), which is expected to be relaunched soon.

The state governor disclosed this during the Remo International Youths Day, which was held at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu-Remo, in the Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.

In his address at the event “Transforming Food Systems: Youths Innovation for Human and Planetary Health,” the governor explained that the grant would provide the beneficiaries with the cash needed to expand their businesses, adding that other youths would have access to interest-free digital loans.

Abiodun further disclosed that more youths would be trained in Digital Training Enterprises and added that technical and vocational training will also be provided for other youths in the state.

“The Ogun Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Scheme, which we will launch in the next two weeks, aims to do a few things; it is a programme directed at our Ogun State youths.

“Through a process, we will identify our young men and women who are entrepreneurs—those who have a flair for starting their own businesses or those who are already engaged in various companies. We will support them with multiple grants.

“We will give them grants starting from N500 000 to N10 million. This will allow them to have the cash they need to expand their businesses and provide them with cash flow. Others will have access to interest-free digital loans. We are unveiling all this in the next few weeks,” he said.
