The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with Afreximbank and other strategic partners, is set to host the maiden edition of the Farm, Food, and Allied Technologies Expo 2024.

This event which will take place in Abuja, aims to showcase the latest advancements in agro-mechanisation and food processing technologies while fostering strategic partnerships across the agriculture sector.

According to a statement issued by the ACCI’s Media/Strategy Officer, Olayemi John-Mensah on Wednesday, the Expo will feature cutting-edge innovations designed to revolutionize agricultural practices in Nigeria and beyond.

The President of the ACCI, Emeka Obegolu, lauded the strategic collaboration with Autodex Nigeria Ltd, Afreximbank, and Henan Qianli Machinery Co Ltd in bringing this landmark event to life.

He emphasised the chamber’s unwavering commitment to initiatives that enhance Nigeria’s economic landscape, stating, “The ACCI, as a leading Chamber of Commerce, is fully committed to supporting initiatives that enhance Nigeria’s economic landscape.”

Obegolu highlighted the Expo’s potential to create valuable opportunities for stakeholders interested in advancing the agricultural value chain.

“The expo will offer a valuable platform for stakeholders eager to explore collaborative opportunities aimed at boosting the agricultural value chain and improving financing models for this vital sector,” he noted.

One of the key moments of the Expo will be a keynote address by Prof Benedict Okey Oramah, President of Afreximbank. Oramah will speak on the topic, “Agricultural Financing and Its Value Chain in Nigeria in Particular and Africa at Large.”

His presentation will provide insights into optimizing the agricultural financing process, focusing on the value-added activities from farm to fork.

The Expo is expected to attract a diverse group of participants, including government representatives, agricultural machinery manufacturers, food processing technology companies, agribusiness entrepreneurs, investors, research institutions, academia, and farmers.

The event promises to be a hub for networking and collaboration, with numerous opportunities for technology transfer, content building, market access, and capacity development.
