Nigeria goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye, is grateful for the opportunity and privilege to play for Enosis Neon Paralimni, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 24-year-old counted his blessings in his first interview since joining the Cypriot First Division club from Hapoel Jerusalem on July 2.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity, and I would say that it’s a privilege to be here. I believe so much in the team, and I’m looking forward to a remarkable season,” stated the B-United Football Academy product.

This is the second time the athletic shot stopper will celebrate the move, which he announced in a statement on his social media handles in the wake of its completion, thanking his former Israeli club.

“A big thank you to Hapoel Jerusalem for your supports and motivations. The good six years with the club weren’t a waste. Thanks for encouraging me to keep striving for the best. You’ll forever remain in my heart,” stated Adeleye, who before now played all his club football in Israel, where he also shone in the colours of Hapoel Katamon in the 2019/2020 season, belting 33 games.

Adeleye joined Hapoel Katamon in 2018 from the B-United Football Academy in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.

In August 2019, he made his senior debut for Hapoel Jerusalem in a match against Hapoel Rishon LeZion and helped them gain promotion to the Israeli Premier League, keeping 19 clean sheets as they finished as runners-up in the Liga Leumit the following season.

He made his professional debut in August 2021, keeping a clean sheet in a 0–0 draw with Hapoel Nof HaGalil.
