Two-time UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, was spotted enjoying the Lagos nightlife as he hit a popular club on Lagos Island Friday night, Sunday PUNCH reports.

The mixed martial arts star shared glimpses of his outing on his Instagram stories, drawing attention from fans and celebrities alike.

Adesanya’s visit to the club comes on the heels of a busy week that saw the fighter return to his hometown of Esa-Oke in Osun State, where he was celebrated by the community and the traditional ruler, the Owa-Omiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran.

The Nigerian-born athlete, who arrived in Lagos on Wednesday, received a hero’s welcome despite his recent UFC 305 loss to South African fighter, Dricus Du Plessis.

Adesanya’s return to Nigeria has been marked by multiple trips, including his visit to Oyo, Ibadan, and Esa-Oke, where he was honoured by traditional leaders and residents.

During his time in Osun State, Adesanya was praised for his accomplishments and his contributions to putting Nigeria on the global map.

The Owa-Omiran, who received the fighter at his palace on Thursday, announced that Adesanya would be honoured during the annual Esa-Oke Day celebration later this year.

“The Owa-Omiran announced that the Ananye ruling house-born Adesanya will be honoured during the Esa-Oke Day celebration later this year,” Onifade told the News Agency of Nigeria.

The fighter expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted that he remains committed to making Nigeria proud.

“It feels great to be back home and to see the love and support from my people. I’m grateful for the recognition, and I’ll keep pushing to make everyone proud,” Adesanya said.

Despite his tight schedule and obligations, Adesanya found time to unwind at the Lagos nightclub, where he was reportedly joined by close friends and fans.

His Lagos visit has been a mix of celebration, homecoming, and reflection, as he reconnects with his roots while taking a break from the rigours of the octagon.
