To address economic challenges through data-driven solutions, Covenant University students recently honed their data analytics skills in a two-day intensive training programme.

A  statement made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday noted that the programme held at the African Development Bank Centre of Excellence in Otta, Ogun State, was organised by McAnderson Institute of Technology in partnership with AfDB.

The training aimed to equip students with vital skills to navigate Nigeria’s evolving economy. Led by Google-certified data analyst Boluwatife Oludipin, the sessions included hands-on exercises, focusing on practical applications of data analytics for identifying and solving complex economic issues.

Experts, including Frederick Oscar and Hope Oladele, emphasised the role of data skills in economic resilience, stating that these students will be crucial in driving Nigeria’s tech-driven economy. Godwin Ebong, a global talent, noted that data literacy could spark economic innovation, while Ajiboye Ayobamidele, COO of McAnderson, highlighted the programme’s focus on bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry needs.

Through this training, Covenant University students gained essential skills, mentorship, and industry connections, positioning them to make significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.
