Blessing Agbomhere, a legal practitioner and lead partner at Ubiijus DLaw, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN) on his recent election as the president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
According to reports, Osigwe, the former secretary general of the NBA, received an overwhelming 20,435 votes, defeating his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, the chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, who secured 10,998 votes.
In a personal message of congratulations, Agbomhere emphasised that Osigwe’s election is not only a personal victory, but also a triumph for the legal profession in Nigeria.
He believes that Osigwe’s tenure will bring about progress, innovation, and transparency in the NBA’s operations. Agbomhere called upon all learned silks to provide Osigwe with the support he needs to elevate the association to new heights.
Describing Osigwe as a diligent and dedicated lawyer, Agbomhere expressed confidence that Osigwe will go to great lengths to ensure that the esteemed association fulfils its statutory responsibilities.
These responsibilities include upholding the reputable standard of legal practice in Nigeria, as well as promoting and protecting the principles of the rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights.
