Atletico Madrid winger Rasheedat Ajibade has been crowned Spanish Liga F Player of the Month for September, capping off an incredible run of form for the club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 24-year-old Nigerian sensation dazzled throughout the month, scoring five goals and providing two assists in four league matches for Atletico.

Her exemplary performances left opponents in awe and solidified her status as one of the league’s top talents.

Ajibade beat other top players to the award, edging out Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor, Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, Levante Badalona’s María Llompart, and Athletic Club Femenino’s Nerea Nevado.

The former FC Robo player is currently the second-leading scorer in the Spanish Liga F, trailing only Pajor in the golden boot race.

Her consistency has once again earned her recognition, following a similar accolade earlier in March 2024, when she was named Atlético’s Player of the Month.

This latest accolade follows a strong 2023/2024 campaign for Ajibade, when she registered 10 goals and four assists in 30 matches to emerge as Atlético Madrid’s Player of the Season.

The Super Falcons skipper’s stellar form has been crucial to Atletico Madrid’s success this season, with the club currently third in the table behind Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The former FC Robo star’s recognition comes just months after she led Nigeria to qualify for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years.

Her rise to prominence in Spanish football has been meteoric since joining Atletico Madrid in 2021. She has quickly established herself as a key player for the club, consistently delivering top-draw performances.

The latest award is a testament to her continual growth and impact on the pitch, further cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s brightest football stars on the international stage.
