Alleged Fake Voter Card: End Of The Road For APC, Okpebholo In Edo Gubernatorial Race – PDP Declares

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate for the September 21, 2024, Edo State Governorship election, Monday Okpebholo, are no longer in the race.

Naija News reports that the PDP’s claim stems from an allegation that Okpebholo is not a registered voter. This revelation reportedly emerged after a review of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, issued a statement on Friday in Abuja addressing the matter.

The alarming discovery that the APC candidate allegedly presented a fake voter card in his Form EC9 submitted to INEC is a self-inflicted blow, which clearly and irredeemably signals the end of the road for the APC and its candidate in the 2024 Edo State Governorship election,” Ologunagba stated.

He further noted, “It is indeed scandalous that the APC sponsored a candidate with alleged questionable documents as a governorship candidate for Edo State who is noted for being very credible and highly respectable citizens.”

Ologunagba also highlighted that the APC’s submission of a blurred and unreadable voter card, purportedly belonging to their candidate, raises serious questions.

The APC has remained silent since the news broke that the voter card in question is allegedly forged,” he added.
