Former Nigerian international, Emmanuel Amuneke, has been unveiled as new head coach of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Heartland of Owerri.
Governor Hope Uzodinma unveiled the FIFA U17 World Cup winning coach and former Tanzania’s national team handler in his office on Monday as the new manager of Naze Millionaires.
Governor Uzodinma in a series of posts on his X handle, said the appointment of Amuneke brings a wave of optimism and a renewed commitment to revitalize Heartland.
“I am thrilled to announce that our brother, Mr Emmanuel Amuneke, the celebrated international football legend from Imo State, has been appointed as the Head Coach of Heartland Football Club,” Uzodinma wrote on his X.
“Amuneke’s remarkable career has made us incredibly proud, and his return to our State in this new role brings a wave of optimism. Heartland FC has faced a series of challenges in recent seasons, but this appointment marks a renewed commitment to revitalize the club.”
Amuneke last managerial stint was with Egyptian club Misr Lel-Makkasa where he served until February 2021.
