A computer Science graduate of Anchor University, Lagos, Mojetioluwa Dave Ewetola, has won the 2024 National Information Technology (NIT) competition organised by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
The competition, organised for tertiary institution students, was aimed at promoting and identifying Information Technology (IT) skills, interests, and passion among graduates.
Ewetola was announced the winner after the final stage of the competition. The first step of the competition was conducted online where he participated and qualified. He was later invited to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the final stage where he was presented the award on August 15, 2024. Ewetola, while speaking on the award, said: “I really don’t know how I feel, I just feel normal and grateful to God for the opportunity given to me.”
“I felt nervous in both stages, but I just needed to be calm knowing that God was with me. So, there was no need for me to be agitated.
“My driving force during the competition was the courage I had that I would just give this competition all my best and see where it will lead to. I wasn’t really able to prepare much because it was impromptu.”
Ewetola, who expressed optimism that there are bigger opportunities ahead, advised youths to rely on God and do their best, saying: “Sometimes, it always seems impossible to be done until it is done and that is why when you are in the process, you don’t explain your process to everybody but just keep doing it and let your result do the talking.”
