Angel Studios, producers of the hit film ‘Sound of Freedom’ and the ‘Chosen’ series has raised over $10 million to fund new films and TV shows.

The fund was raised through its 360,000 global community members known as Angel Guild, to whom the studio gave the rights to greenlight the development and distribution of its film and episodic content. Members of the Angel Guild choose which film and television project the studio will market and distribute. To date, the studio said some 104,000 members of the guild from 155 countries have contributed over $80 million in content distributed by the company.

Describing itself as a values-based distribution company’ that backs stories ‘that amplify light’ for mainstream audiences, Angel Studios has produced and backed films such ‘Sound of Freedom’, which amassed $250 million globally; backed the biblical drama ‘His Only Son’ which earned $13 million at the global box office, and the faith-based ‘Cabrini’, which made $20 million globally below its production budget of $50 million.

“In Hollywood, a handful of elites in an L.A. boardroom decide what the world watches. At Angel Studios, we believe the viewers know best,” said Co-founder and Chief Content Officer, Angel Studio, Jeffrey Harmon.

“That’s why we can’t even consider a film unless the Angel Guild first greenlights it. With over 360,000 members from 150+ countries, the guild is already in the driver’s seat. Through this offering, we hope to grow the guild to over one million members, we believe that reaching that milestone will make Angel Studios a true movement, a driving force in the entertainment landscape.”

With the new investment, Angel Studio plans to expand the guild and fund new projects.
Upcoming releases for the studio include WWII-set biopic “Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin”, and post-apocalyptic drama ‘Homestead’. The company reportedly has at least seven movies and seven TV series planned for 2025.
