APC Chieftain Obahieme Rallies Support For Okpebholo, Says Edo Needs Credible Leader

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Dr. Tony Obahieme, has publicly endorsed the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for the upcoming September 21 election.

Launching a scathing criticism of the current PDP-led Edo State government, Obahieme emphasised the significant credibility gap between Okpebholo and his opponents in the State’s governorship race.

Obahieme argued that the current leadership in the state has failed to deliver tangible results for the people of State.

He accused the state government of offering little more than “expired grammar” over the past eight years, a term he used to describe rhetoric and perceived lack of action in the state.

According to Obahieme, the people of Edo State were rallying behind Okpebholo not solely because of his affiliation with the APC, but because of his proven integrity and consistent track record.

He lauded Okpebholo’s work as Edo South Senator, describing it as clear and undeniable evidence of his capability to lead.

“Honestly, the integrity and credibility gap between Monday Okpebholo and his opposition is obvious to everyone with a voter’s card in Edo State,” Obahieme stated, expressing confidence that this would be reflected in the election results come September 21, 2021.

He predicted a decisive victory for Okpebholo over the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

Obahieme also criticised political leaders with questionable integrity, arguing that such individuals should not be considered for party nominations.

He accused some candidates of undermining party decisions to advance their own ambitions, thereby revealing their lack of credibility.
