APC Seeks Probe Of Kano Govt Over Alleged Diversion Of Rice

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has said it was worried over diversion of palliatives by officials of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) government.

A statement by the state party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas in Kano yesterday called for an independent investigation and prosecution of the culprits or it would take legal action.

The party said it was unfortunate that last week, hundreds of bags of rice labeled “Federal Government Food Security Program” were discovered at a private school, Wada Sagagi Islamic School owned by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Kano, Shehu Wada Sagagi.”

But responding, the Chief of Staff, Sagagi, strongly denied the allegation, saying some of the rice was donated to him, and he bought the remaining ones with his money for the daily free feeding of Islamic school children.

Sagagi who offers free education for orphans, described as unfortunate how some hoodlums attacked the school and carted away the rice.

However, the APC chairman insisted that no convincing argument was put forward by Sagagi on how the bags of rice were found in his private residence turned Islamiyya school.
