APC Warns Against Sharp Practices In Bauchi LG Poll

3 months ago 6

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State at the weekend presented its candidates for Saturday’s local government council elections with a warning to the PDP to steer clear of alleged plots to rig the poll

The party’s acting state chairman, Hon Mohammed Hassan, who gave the warning, said the APC was fully aware of the PDP’s plan to orchestrate electoral fraud as it has done in previous elections dating back to 2019, hence “we in the APC are ever ready to checkmate the ruling party in the state.” Hassan also warned the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) against pitching tent with the government in power to perpetuate negative electoral tendencies.

He enjoined APC members, particularly its officials assigned to carry out electoral duties at constituencies and polling stations or units to guard against the party’s hard-earned votes.

Hassan explained that the APC is fielding candidates in all the 20 chairmanship and 323 councilorship seats for the August 17 LG elections in the state and expressed confidence that the party would clinch all the seats.

Also, the APC senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district, Senator Shehu Buba Umar assured that nothing would stop the APC from sweeping the ballot boxes if the assurance by BASIEC to conduct a free, fair and credible elections is anything to go by.
