APGA Crisis Will Not Stop Re-Election Of Soludo – Ezeokenwa

The factional Chairman of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA), Sylvester Ezeokenwa, has said that the crisis plaguing the party will not affect the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.

Ezeokenwa opined that it is normal for crisis to occur during election period.

He stated this on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Ezeokenwa said crisis rocked the party during the elections of previous governors Willie Obiano and Peter Obi but did not stop them from emerging victorious.

We had this crisis in 2009, it did not stop the re-election of Governor Peter Obi; we had this crisis in 2013, it did not stop the re-election of Gov Willie Obiano; we had this issue in 2017, it did not stop the re-election of Gov Willie Obiano, we had this issue in 2021, it didn’t stop the election of Professor Charles Soludo.

“These men that are doing this thing, they do it every four years once the election approaches. But there is one thing, Anambra State and the people of Anambra understand and believe in APGA and what APGA has brought to Anambra State,” he stated.

Ezeokenwa was elected as chair APGA in May 2023 after an elective convention was held in Awka, Anambra state.

However, in July 2024, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognised Edozie Njoku as the national chair of APGA. The electoral body said it relied on a court order to do so.
