A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has expressed displeasure over the arraignment of minors involved in the August #EndBadGovernance.
Naija News reported that the Nigeria Police arraigned the minors on Friday for alleged treason and later granted N10 million bail each, while the matter was adjourned till January 2025.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Igbokwe blamed the development on politicians who instigated the violent protests.
According to the APC chieftain, politicians are using poor, innocent children for their selfish gains while their children are studying in the best universities across the world.
He wrote, “It is evil and despicable to use other peoples Children to play politics. Meanwhile your Children are studying in the best Universities across the world.
“Ok, you think you can destroy other peoples Children and your own will excel abi? Oga put on your thinking cap and learn. The law of Karma is still there oooo”.
Atiku Lambasts Tinubu
Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has slammed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration for detaining and prosecuting #EndBadGovernance protesters who are minors.
In a statement to Naija News, Atiku described the video showing the moment the minors slumped as disturbing.
Atiku, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, said he finds it reprehensible that Tinubu who claims to have fought for Nigeria’s democracy and had led protests now demonises those who decide to demonstrate against the effects of his harsh policies.
