Arsenal’s New Signing Mikel Merino To Miss Seven Games

2 weeks ago 3

Arsenal’s 2024 summer transfer window signing, Mikel Merino, is currently facing a setback from a shoulder injury he suffered recently during training.

Earlier today, September 2, UK Metro confirmed that the injury is expected to keep Mikel Merino out of action for about seven games. This means that the 28-year-old Spanish midfielder is expected to be sidelined until mid-October.

The Spain international finalized a move to Arsenal from Real Sociedad in a transfer deal worth £31.6 million during the closing stages of the 2024 summer transfer window.

Nonetheless, Merino has been unable to showcase his skills on the field for Arsenal due to a fractured shoulder sustained during his first training session.

During Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brighton last weekend, Merino was sighted in the stands with his right arm in a sling, indicating the severity of his injury.

Due to the injury, he is not expected to leave London during the September international break as he aims to regain full fitness in a record time.

Below are all the games Mikel Merino is likely to miss for Arsenal:

– Tottenham Hotspur (Away) Premier League – September 15
– Atalanta (Away) Champions League – September 19
– Man City (A) Premier League – September 22
– Bolton (H) Carabao Cup – TBC
– Leicester City (Home) Premier League – September 28
– Paris Saint-Germain (H) Champions League – October 1
– Southampton (H) Premier League – October 5
