The workshop put together by the Labour Writers’ Association of Nigeria (LAWAN) is expected to address core issues in the economy as it focuses on the welfare of workers.
Slated to be held in Lagos on Sept 5, with the theme ‘Challenges of Nigeria’s Economy Downturn: Survival Option for Workers’, Director of Human Resource, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Dr Wole Odubayo is expected to deliver the keynote address, while others including Presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero and the TUC, Festus Osifo are also expected to speak to the theme.
Chairman of LAWAN, Toba Agboola, said this year’s workshop would give room for interactions with relevant agencies, companies, unions and stakeholders on the best ways the association could collaborate towards having a robust economy.
He stressed that the discussions would also shape the future of labour and employment in Nigeria, adding that recognition of excellence would be given to some stakeholders at the workshop.
