Italian Serie A side, Atalanta, are making urgent efforts to secure the future of their Nigerian star winger, Ademola Lookman, amid rising interest from some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs.
Recently, Ademola Lookman has been the subject of speculation, with heavy links to renowned teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
During the summer transfer window, PSG made overtures to acquire the highly talented Nigerian international.
Recognizing his immense value and potential, Atalanta are now proactively engaging in discussions to extend Lookman’s contract, which is currently set to expire in 2026.
The club is prepared to offer a new deal that includes a significant salary increase to reflect his contributions and importance to the squad.
Atalanta have placed a considerable valuation on Lookman, estimating his worth to be in the range of €60 to €70 million. This financial figure underscores their intention to retain the player and fend off any attempts from rival clubs aiming to lure him away.
Meanwhile, Major League Soccer (MLS) side CF Montreal has decided to retain their promising forward, Sunusi Ibrahim, for the upcoming 2025 season. Ibrahim is among 16 players kept by the club as they look to build a competitive roster.
Sunusi Ibrahim, who previously made his mark as the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) during the 2019 season with an impressive ten goals from 22 matches, joined CF Montreal in 2021.
Since his signing, the 22-year-old forward has accumulated a total of 13 goals across 75 league appearances for the MLS side.
On the other hand, CF Montreal have opted to part ways with former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Victor Wanyama, indicating a shift in their team dynamics and strategy.
