Hajiya Halima Adamu, the mother of prominent Hausa singer Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara, has been abducted.

The abduction took place at her home at Kahutu Village in Danja local government area of Katsina State, early Friday morning.

A local source revealed that the bandits stormed the village around 1 am, approaching on foot and conducting their operation silently.

“The bandits did not fire a single shot during the operation that lasted only a few minutes,” the source reported.

“Hajiya Halima did not resist when the bandits demanded she accompany them,” the source said.

He further noted that despite encountering other people in the house, the kidnappers specifically targeted Rarara’s mother, leaving the others behind.

“No one attempted to confront the bandits as they were armed with guns. They probably left their motorcycles some distance away and trekked to the village,” the source added.

The abduction has left the residents of Kahutu village in shock and concern. “We are praying for her safe return because she is very helpful to us in this village,” one villager said, adding, “Her son, Rarara, has been very generous to us, bringing many developments to improve our wellbeing.”

Efforts to contact the famous singer for comments were unsuccessful, as repeated calls to his phone went unanswered.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the abduction as at the time of filing this report.
