Bauchi ACReSAL Engages Stakeholders On Flooding

Bauchi State Project Management Unit of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has engaged with stakeholders of the Kirfi local government area to discuss flooding issues in its communities.

The state project coordinator, Dr Ibrahim Kabir said the engagement is part of their efforts to ensure smooth implementation of the ACReSAL project in Bauchi State.

He said the move is necessary to find lasting solutions to the effect of flooding bedevilling the communities in the area, saying it will go a long way in adopting the right measures to mitigate the menace.

The meeting was centred on ensuring the people’s commitment and support for the successful implementation of ACReSAL in the local government.

The council’s caretaker chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, and the district head expressed their happiness at being among the ACReSAL project’s beneficiaries.

Dewu added that the intervention would end their decades of suffering from flooding that destroyed their houses and farmlands and promised their support for the area’s overall benefit.

He commended the state governor Bala Mohammed for finding Kirfi worthy of ACReSAL intervention, which will bring lasting solutions to their plights. He applauded the SPMU for their untiring commitment towards delivering the project in the state.

The senior special assistant to the governor on ACReSAL, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Barde, applauded the stakeholders’ foresight and unwavering commitment to the SPMU.

He said this would ensure the successful implementation of the project not only in Kirfi but also in the state as a whole.
