The Bauchi State government has formally handed over the General Hospital Misau to the federal government, paving the way for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in the area.

This move is part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s vision to provide healthcare services for the people.

This was disclosed by the commissioner for health, Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo, who said the State Executive Council ratified the transfer of the hospital during its meeting.

“This development demonstrates Governor Mohammed’s commitment to improve healthcare in Bauchi. We are working tirelessly to ensure our citizens receive the best possible medical attention,” he said.

During the briefing, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, reassured citizens that there are no confirmed cholera cases in the state.

He urged residents to maintain good hygiene practices and keep their environments clean to prevent the spread of diseases.

The commissioner for lands and survey, Amina Katagum, said the state government would commence a comprehensive programme to name streets and houses across the 20 local government areas to facilitate easy identification and navigation, making Bauchi a more organised and modern state.
