Bauchi State commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Barrister Abubakar Abdulhamid has said the state is among the leading states in the federation tackling insecurity.

Abdulhamid stated this at an event on crime prevention and control in Bauchi organised by Plan International Nigeria in collaboration with the Department of Crime Management held at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, adding that the efforts have contributed to making Bauchi the safest and most peaceful in the Northeast sub-region.

The commissioner attributed the feat to the vital roles being played by both conventional and non-conventional security formations in the state.

While emphasizing the importance of maintaining unity and security, Barrister Abdulhamid called on members of the Federal and State Security Administrators’ Committee to adopt innovative internal security strategies to address the challenges across the country.

During the event which was aimed at raising public awareness on the need for collaborative efforts to ensure community safety and effective policing, the commissioner highlighted the significant strides Bauchi State has made in addressing security challenges.

Also, Moses Nyam of Plan International made a presentation on the importance of mental health, particularly within the school system, as he provided valuable insights into common triggers of mental health problems within the school system.
