Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed

The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Umar Buba, has accused Governor Bala Mohammed of short-changing the people.

The Senator, who also described Mohammed as not clean alleged that through this act, the governor had impoverished the residents.

Buba made this allegation in Bauchi on Saturday during an interview session with journalists at the ‘Next-level office of the All Progressives Congress,’ shortly after the party’s campaign flag-off for the August 17 local government election in the state.

Buba said, “The hardship is caused by the PDP. If anyone says it is the policy of the All Progressives Congress, that is very misleading and fictitious. It is fake and not true. The Federal Government, under the leadership of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is doing everything possible to rebuild this country.

“I can tell you for free that the Bauchi State government is not even acknowledging and appreciating all the interventions being given by the Federal Government.

“For example, let me tell you about the recent interventions of the 20 trucks of rice that were given to Bauchi State to distribute to the populace in the state. Where are the bags of rice?”

He added, “Three months ago, about 70 trucks of guinea corn were given by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for distribution. Also, recently, 70 trucks of fertilisers were given free to the Bauchi State Government to distribute, but they (the government) ended up selling it at the rate of N50,000.

“This hardship in Bauchi is caused by the Bala Mohammed-led government. It is a one-man government. I’m repeating it. It’s a government that is very corrupt. Look at all the ministries. Nothing is happening.”

According to the senator, under the government of PDP, corruption has affected many people.

He continued, “Nothing will stop us from winning this election because of the maladministration of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bauchi State. Now, people are being impoverished by the PDP policy in Bauchi. You can see that the Bauchi PDP government is very corrupt. The corruption is very obvious and known to everybody,” he insisted.

The Red Chamber lawmaker insisted, “With these, we are very optimistic that we are going to win this election. And, we are heading towards the 2027 general elections, and we are ready for them. We are out, and we are prepared for this election by God’s grace.”

Flowing from the above, Buba enjoined the people of Bauchi State to troop out in their large numbers on August 17 to vote for the APC, even as he expressed  optimism that his party will win the election.

Speaking earlier, the state APC acting chairman, Mohammed Hassan Tilde, said that the APC was fully aware of the PDP’s plan to orchestrate electoral fraud as it did in the previous elections in 2019; hence, “We in the APC are ever ready to checkmate the ruling party in the state.”

He enjoined APC members, particularly its officials assigned to carry out electoral duties at the various  constituencies and polling stations or units to guard against the party’s hard-earned votes.

Tilde disclosed that the APC has fielded candidates in all 20 chairmanship and 323 councilorship seats for this Saturday’s LG elections in the state and expressed the confidence that the party will clinch all the seats.
