Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has stated his commitment to supporting Governor Douye Diri as he resumes his official duties after his two-week vacation.

In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi, on Monday in Yenagoa, the state capital, Ewhrudjakpo said he was full of vitality for the task ahead while thanking God for His mercies and grace upon his life and family.

He thanked Diri for the privilege and permission granted him to proceed on vacation and also thanked his staff, Bayelsans and Nigerians alike, for their support, prayers and best wishes while he was away.

“The vacation afforded him the opportunity to undergo his routine medical checks, which gave him a clean bill of health. He is as fit as a fiddle and ready for work,” the statement read.

Ewhrudjakpo also used the opportunity to felicitate with the Muslim Ummah on the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Mohammed and wished them happy Eid-el-Maulud celebrations.

According to the statement, the deputy governor will commence official duties on Tuesday after the public holiday.
