MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the winner of the 2024 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show will receive a grand prize of N100 million.

This was revealed at toothed Naija’s press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday.

Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, Busola Tejumola, made the revelation on Tuesday at a press briefing in Lagos.

Tejumola added that the 2024 season will premiere on Sunday, July 28, at 7 pm WAT and that the show will be broadcast across all Africa Magic channels.

This year’s prize is N20 million less than the N120 million awarded in the 2023 edition.

Tejumola also confirmed that the winner will not only receive the N100 million cash prize but also a brand new SUV.

“After 71 days of game playing, on the 6th of October, 2024, a grand total of N100 million worth of cash and a brand new SUV will be won,” she stated.

The reduction in the prize money comes after Ilebaye Odiniya claimed the N120 million grand prize in October 2023, during the all-stars (8th) season.

“With new twists and unknown housemates ready to become your new faves, this season promises to be one for the books,” they announced.

“Expect shocking twists, explosive drama, and alliances that will keep you guessing,” she added.

LEADERSHIP recalls that auditions for the ninth season of BBNaija commenced on March 27 and concluded on May 4.

The organisers have promised a season filled with “double drama, relationships, and huge competition”, as participants will be in pair.
