A member of the House of Representatives from Ondo State, Mr Jimi Odimayo, has expressed optimism that the present administration of President Bola Tinubu would turn the country around for better.
Odimayo, who represents the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, declared that the current challenges facing the people of the country were temporary, saying there was a need for people to be patient with the Tinubu administration.
He stated this at the distribution of fertilizers to hundreds of farmers at his constituency on Friday in Irele town.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Victor Adedeji.
Odimayo, who is the Chairman House Committee on Population, said, “The current national challenges are like the pains of labour before childbirth. I will urge for patience with President Tinubu’s administration. The difficulties of Nigerians are temporary.
“I am sure that there is hope for this country, and the Tinubu government is committed to fulfilling its promises of economic recovery and national development.”
On the distribution of the fertilizer to farmers, the federal lawmaker said the gesture was to support and encourage the farmers in Ondo State, particularly those in Irele and Okitipupa Local Government Areas.
“This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes agricultural development as a key component of Nigeria’s economic growth.
“This effort aims to boost local farmers by increasing crop yields and enhancing food production. Providing fertilizers is a crucial strategy to improve agricultural practices and ensure that farmers have the necessary resources to succeed,” he explained.
Odimayo, who also emphasized the importance of supporting local farmers to increase crop yield and enhance food production, noted that the provision of fertilizers was part of a broader strategy to improve agricultural practices and provide farmers with essential resources.
He added that the next phase of solar street lights installation by him was in progress, while the restoration of electricity to Irele and Ese Odo Local Government Areas would be completed by December.
“This has been made possible through successful collaboration with stakeholders who secured funding to connect these areas directly to the Ode Erinje 132KVA. The project includes restoring and repairing existing cables and procuring new transformers to ensure a stable power supply,” Odimayo assured all.
The legislator commended youths in the constituency for their unwavering support for maintaining peace during the just-concluded #Endbadgovernance protests.
