Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Grace Adagba, has embarked on a statewide school enrolment campaign to boost the enrolment of children in public schools in the state.

This is even as the chairman has embarked on school monitoring to ensure the maintenance of standard infrastructure and quality educational delivery in the state.

In a statement sent to our correspondent by the Information Officer of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Emmanuella Akese, he said the initiative aims to boost enrolment and ensure schools adhere to the new educational standards introduced as part of reforms in the basic education sector.

The statement read in part, “During her tour, the SUBEB Chairman also conducted thorough inspections to ensure compliance with the new school standards set under her administration’s reform agenda.

“These standards are part of a broader strategy to improve infrastructure, teacher quality, and the overall learning environment within the public school system.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child in Benue State has access to quality basic education in a conducive learning environment.

Adagba while addressing school children and parents at St. John’s Primary/UBE Junior Secondary School and UBE Junior Secondary School Anzwar all in Gboko noted that “the future of our state lies in the education of our children, and we are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, is enrolled in school and receives the best education possible.”

Our correspondent gathered that the school enrolment campaign has already started yielding results, with several schools recording a surge in enrolment.
