Benue: Woman shot dead in Makurdi

A middle-aged woman, Theresa Awuhe, has been gunned down in Makurdi, the capital city, by some unidentified assailants.

The incident occurred on Saturday night as she was returning home from her shop near the Villa suite.

According to reports, unidentified assailants ambushed Ms. Awuhe and opened fire, killing her instantly.

It was further learnt that no items were reported stolen from the victim as the perpetrators fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Ms. Awuhe’s murder.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, stated that a formal report has been filed and that authorities are working diligently to apprehend the suspects.
