Biden Needs To Seriously Reconsider Re-Election Bid – Obama

Former US President, Barack Obama has reportedly advised President Joe Biden to reconsider his bid for re-election.

According to the Washington Post, Obama believes Biden’s path to victory has diminished and suggests that the 81-year-old should “seriously consider the viability of his candidacy”.

Obama’s influence within the Democratic Party remains significant, given his tenure as president and Biden’s vice presidency under his administration from 2009 to 2017.

His opinion adds to the growing chorus within the Democratic Party urging Biden to step aside after a challenging debate performance against Donald Trump.

Despite these concerns, Biden, currently isolating with Covid-19 at his beach house, has dismissed worries about his age and fitness, asserting his intention to remain in the race for the White House.

Pressure is mounting, with prominent Democratic figures like Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader, Hakeem Jeffries reportedly meeting Biden to express their concerns about his candidacy’s impact on the party’s prospects in the upcoming November election.
