Rising Canadian boxing star Christian Mbilli will face seasoned Polish contender Maciej Sulęcki on June 27 at the Centre Vidéotron in Québec City, in a high-stakes bout for the interim WBC super middleweight title.
The fight could serve as a pivotal moment in Mbilli’s career, bringing him one step closer to a dream showdown with reigning WBC champion Canelo Álvarez.
Mbilli (26-0, 22 KOs), known for his relentless pressure and explosive punching power, has been steadily climbing the super middleweight rankings.
His most recent victory, a dominant stoppage win over Rohan Murdock in early 2024, solidified his status as one of the most exciting contenders in the division.
Now, the 29-year-old will take on Sulęcki (31-2, 12 KOs), a battle-tested veteran whose only defeats came against top-tier opponents including Demetrius Andrade and Daniel Jacobs. Sulęcki brings experience and technical polish, making him Mbilli’s toughest test to date.

“This is the fight that will prove I belong at the very top,” Mbilli said at a recent press conference. “I respect Sulęcki, but I’m coming to make a statement. I want Canelo next.”
The interim title bout not only adds pressure but also promises fireworks for boxing fans in Canada and beyond, with the winner potentially becoming the mandatory challenger for Álvarez’s crown later this year.
