BREAKING: Ekiti Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye Dies At 64

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye is dead.

Sources close to the judiciary disclosed that Justice Adeyeye passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary hospital in Ekiti after a short illness.

The late Chief Judge died at the age of 64.

Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East local government area of the state, Adeyeye was called to the bar in 1986 when he joined the legal profession.

He began his career as a state counsel in the old Ondo State civil service before moving to Ekiti in 1996, where he became part of the Judiciary Service Commission.

Elevated to the Ekiti State High Court bench in 2002, he went on to serve on multiple election petition tribunals over the years, bringing his expertise to the state judiciary.

Adeyeye was sworn in as Chief Judge on October 11, 2021, under the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Details of his death were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report as the state government has not issued an official statement on the passion of the chief judge.
