SaharaReporters had earlier reported the arrival of representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) at the State House in Abuja for a meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
SaharaReporters on Wednesday reported that the Nigerian government was reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with the labour unions on a new national minimum wage as President Tinubu invited the representatives of organised labour to a meeting at the Aso Villa on Thursday (today), hoping to settle the lingering talks on minimum wage.
However, the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero said the positions of N250,000 for Labour and N62,000 for the Federal Government still stood.
Recall that Nigerians, especially the nation’s workforce have been expecting a new minimum wage from the government.
