1 week ago 70

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.

This meeting, which began at 1:11 pm, is the first since the one scheduled for last Wednesday was called off due to the death of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, and a representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation are in attendance. Nearly all ministers and other members of the cabinet are also present.

President Tinubu, who had earlier expressed profound grief over Lagbaja’s passing, reconvened the FEC meeting as the administration resumes its key policy discussions and governance agendas following a period of national mourning.

In other news, President Tinubu has disclosed that his administration has successfully attracted $30 billion in Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) commitments in less than two years of taking over power.

Tinubu stated this while opening the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) 2024 conference in Abuja.

Represented by the National Security Adviser, (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, the President, noted that the administration set out with a clear vision to strengthen Nigeria’s economic foundation, highlighting the substantial progress his government has achieved.
