Protesters in Lagos State calling for an end to bad governance, have been chased off the streets by thugs in Alausa, the seat of government in the State.

Naija News understands that the office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is in Aluasa, where protesters, who refused to head for the Freedom Park in Ojota, the court approved protest venue in Lagos, have been since the nationwide protest began, on Thursday.

According to Daily Trust, however, around 12 midday, hoodlums descended on them with sticks, machetes and different weapons.

They fled in different directions as their assailants closed in.

Security operatives who were on ground reportedly looked away while the protesters ran for cover.

The incident happened 24 hours after hoodlums chased protesters out of Freedom Park.

Protesters in some states have refused to stay of the street despite the plea of President Bola tinubu, in a nationwide broadcast to end the protest.

Naija News recall that Tinubu, on Sunday, called on protesters across the country to end the #EndBadGovernance protest.

The reaction of the President came after several calls from prominent Nigerians like the ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi and several others to attend to the demands of the protesters and address them.

The protest which had been hijacked in some states have seen government and private properties been looted and damaged.
