Nigerian music star, Burna Boy has ventured into the football world by launching a football academy across three cities in Nigeria.

The multiple Grammy award winner simply named the academy as Burna Boy Football Academy, which is expected to operate three days a week with two-hour training sessions.

Burna Boy FA has two training centers in Lagos – Lekki and Surulare – while Abuja and Port Harcourt have a center each.

The academy, which was unveiled via its website on Monday, August 12, aims to nurture young talent, accepting players between the ages of 4 and 15, as well as those between 16 and 21.

The academy’s vision, as stated on its official website, is to create an environment where young players can learn the fundamental skills of football, intertwined with education, discipline, and technique, to help them excel not only in the sport but also in life.

Also, the academy emphasizes the importance of sports education along with academic pursuits and actively seeks to engage parents in this endeavour.

The academy has secured partnerships with reputable English Premier League clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, and Brighton, as well as with Championship side Watford.

Additionally, the academy has links with Hearts and Hamilton football clubs in Scotland.

Before gaining widespread attention on the internet, the academy had been quietly operating and even had the results of seven friendly matches on their website. These matches yielded four wins, two defeats, and a draw.
