Cadastre Office Reports Technical Glitch, Assures Of Secure Data

4 months ago 6

The Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) has alerted mining and minerals stakeholders that its electronic portal (EMC+) may not be accessible in the interim as it has experienced a system downtime.

It, however, gave assurance that its data was safe and that its technical partners were working fast to resolve the matter.

A statement by the director general of NMCO, Engr. Obadiah Nkom yesterday said the issue emanated from a glitch suffered by a technical partner, Cloud Share Provider, which is hosting the agency’s data.

LEADERSHIP reports that the NMCO had in 2023 upgraded its system to the electronic Mining Cadaster Plus (emc+) to ensure seamless and transparent processing of minerals title applications in line with global best practices. With the facility, investors interested in acquiring mineral titles only have to visit the site from any part of the world to access relevant information and process their applications without physical interaction with the MCO staff.

Engr Nkom urged stakeholders to exercise a little patience and understanding while the issue is sorted out.
