CardinalStone appoints new director

CardinalStone Real Assets Limited, an alternative asset manager in real estate and infrastructure development, investing, and management, has appointed Laolu Alabi as its executive director.

 According to the firm, Laolu brings a wealth of expertise in innovative and strategic fundraising and management across global markets.

Commenting on the appointment, the Chief Executive of CardinalStone Real Assets, Mohammed Garuba, expressed the board’s excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Laolu to our team. His exceptional skill set and experience will be invaluable as we continue to drive excellence in real estate.”

In response, Laolu shared his enthusiasm about the new role, noting, “I am honoured to join CardinalStone Real Assets as executive director and I am eager to collaborate with the talented team here to achieve the company’s strategic goals.”

Before joining CardinalStone, Laolu led the real estate division at African Capital Alliance, where he served as fund manager for the $165m Capital Alliance Property Investment Company opportunistic fund.

According to the firm, Laolu was responsible for the fund’s investment strategy, asset management, and value creation.

Earlier in his career, Laolu was an associate investment director at Silk Invest Limited, where he helped raise funds for the Silk Invest Africa Food Private Equity Fund and invested in food chain companies in Egypt, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.

Furthermore, he also gained valuable experience as a research analyst at Stanbic IBTC, where he initiated coverage primarily on the breweries sector.

Laolu holds a bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos, an MSc from Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University, and he is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant.
