Rapper, singer and songwriter, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, known by the stage name CDQ, has come through with his first single of the year, titled, 1 Night, featuring fast-rising South African songstress, Serenita.
The Nowo E Soke hit maker announced the release of the track on all streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday, August 9. Produced by Lehandro Beats, the captivating new single from Nigerian indigenous rap icon serves as his first solo single of 2024, and follow-up to his latest album Mood and Ecstasy, which was released in November last year.
The song also marks a significant milestone in CDQ’s career; for the first time ever, the award-winning Nigerian rap star delivers his rap verses entirely in English, stepping away from his trademark Yoruba flows to showcase a new facet of his artistic expression.
