Chelsea Confirm Signing Of Joao Felix

Chelsea have announced the return of Portuguese forward Joao Felix, who can also play as an attacking midfielder for the West London club.

Recall that Joao Felix spent the 2022-2023 season on loan at Chelsea and was interested in continuing his career at the club, but things didn’t work as anticipated. He returned to Atletico Madrid and later went on loan at FC Barcelona throughout last season.

Due to his poor relationship with Atlético Madrid management especially the club’s coach, Diego Simeone, he decided to leave the club permanently this summer.

Chelsea, who have been very busy in the transfer market decided to bring him back to Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal. The Premier League giants paid Atletico Madrid €50 million before they could complete the deal.

Joao Felix signed a 6-year deal with Chelsea, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2030, with a one-year extension option.

After completing his move to Chelsea, Felix said: “I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea, and I can’t wait to get started; I’m excited about this new chapter.

“I loved my time here before, and I told my friends and family… I’d love to return to the Premier League one day”.

Note that Chelsea confirmed the signing of Joao Felix today, August 21, the same day Atletico Madrid completed the signing of Conor Gallagher on a separate deal.
