As the transfer window approaches its final hours, one of the most captivating sagas still unresolved is the future of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, with transfer experts David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano stating Chelsea and PSG still have interest in the striker.

The Napoli striker, who was widely expected to leave the Serie A club earlier than this stage in the summer transfer window, remains at the centre of intense speculation, with top European clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG expressing their interest one way or another.

A couple of Saudi Arabian clubs are also interested in the 25-year-old, but he has shown little desire to move to the Middle East at the moment.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast, respected journalist David Ornstein highlighted that Osimhen could be involved in a dramatic transfer before the deadline.

“This is one we understand is going to go down on transfer deadline day, and it will be one of those dramatic stories about where Victor Osimhen ends up,” Ornstein remarked.

“Chelsea retain an interest in him, but it’s about what form the deal may take. Who else? Maybe PSG had a strong interest in Osimhen before, so that could be lively. He’s a box office name, a big-time striker.”

The Nigerian’s next destination remains uncertain, but with time ticking down, the situation is poised for last-minute twists.

Meanwhile, another transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that PSG are yet to table an official bid to Napoli, although they are also expected to return with a late offer before Friday’s deadline.

The 25-year-old Nigerian striker has impressed at Napoli for the past three seasons, registering 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 appearances.
