In response to the recent 10-day protest, clergy in Abuja have urged Nigerian youths to focus on revitalizing the distorted value system, which is hindering communal development.
This call was made in a press conference held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel by Christ for All Nation (CFaN) in partnership with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to announce the CFaN Crusade founded by the late Reinhard Bonnke scheduled to be held from the 6th to the 10th of November 2024.
Reverend Dr William Okoye, the General Overseer and Founder of All Christian Fellowship Mission addressing the media, expressed concern about the distortion of values in Nigeria.
He urged the youth to prioritize patience and godliness over the pursuit of money.
Rev. William emphasized that the Crusade aims to intentionally reshape and transform the mindset of the younger generation.
He stated: “Today in Nigeria, we worship money. I recently saw a report on social media about a young boy who was promised to become a millionaire if he buried his mother alive, and he did it. This reflects a distorted sense of value in Nigeria.
“If we can transform the values and mindset of our young people and redirect them to serve God and humanity, Nigeria will be transformed and move forward. That’s one of the major benefits we stand to gain from the crusade.”
Reverend John K. Darku, the African Executive Director of Christ for All Nations (CFaN), emphasized that there is hope for Nigerian youth.
He also highlighted that the Crusade is a legacy of the great missionary and philanthropist Reinhard Bonnke, whose life serves as an example to emulate.
“There is hope for the Nigerian Youth as long as Christ lives. Christ for All Nation is a global ministry founded by Reinhard Bonnke whose life examples are worthy of emulation.
“This is not just a crusade; it’s an investment in the future of Abuja. It’s about planting seeds of hope, nurturing them with the power of the Gospel, and witnessing a vibrant harvest of faith throughout the city,” he said.
