The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has called on Christians across the country to seek spiritual power in a bid to fulfil their divine destinies and confront the tide of evil.
The cleric said this on Friday during the opening ceremony of the church’s 35th anniversary and convention themed, ‘Power From on High,’ held at the MFM Prayer City, Kilometre 12, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The MFM started in 1989 with a prayer meeting attended by 24 people in the living room of the church’s G.O. in Yaba.
Taking his sermon from John 3:27, Olukoya said, “There is power from heaven and that means that there is power from below. Any power that is not from above is from below and it’s the power from above that can be used to tread on serpents and scorpions. To become a child of God, power is needed.
“Powerlessness turns you into a slave. Wickedness is on the increase; evil men are waxing strong and strong, so we cannot afford to just keep quiet but one thing is clear, the only language the enemy understands is spiritual violence and the only thing that the enemy understands is spiritual power.
“The need for power is needed today and you need to pay the price to receive this power. This power is the strength of God in you to trample on serpents and scorpions.”
In her sermon, the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor Shade Olukoya, noted that the world faces danger when women are ignorant of their position, potential and divine enablement in the world order.
“Women are very unique to God. The reason is that women are made to be help-meets. A ministry without the involvement of women is lonely and miserable like that state where Adam was. A nation without the involvement of the office of women will become lonely and miserable.
“So, there is a purpose why God created women. Women are divinely commissioned to occupy a place in a servanthood office. No matter how high-profile you are in society and no matter your position in society, we are made help-meets,” she stated.
